An Overview of Demand-side Survey Data Sets on Women's Financial Inclusion

Watch the above recording of a webinar, hosted by the Data & Measurement working group of the Women’s Financial Inclusion Community of Practice. This webinar is the kick-off to a series to be hosted by the working group. It provides an overview of gender disaggregated demand-side data collection on women’s financial inclusion by introducing existing data sources.

The webinar is introduced by Saara Romu of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation with a presentation on the importance of gender disaggregated data. This is followed by a presentation on the Global Findex database by Leora Klapper, covering its scope, use cases, and examples of headline findings with their implications. Nadia Van de Walle presents Financial Inclusion Insights data, produced by Intermedia: its focus on behavioral insights and digital financial inclusion, together with its emphasis on women in particular, and some examples of recent insights. Finally, Abel Motsomy of FinMark Trust presents on what makes Finscope unique and how users can access these insights on the new i2i data portal.
