Financial Education Initiatives in the Arab Region: A Stocktaking Report
This report – compiled in preparation for the regional conference on financial education held in Morocco in October 2016 – is based on relevant information collected through literature review and interviews with stakeholders. Looking at existing policy frameworks and demand-side analyses, this research recapitulates the general status of financial education in several selected countries in the Arab region: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, the Palestinian Territories, Tunisia and Yemen.
Furthermore, recent empirical evidence on regional and national financial education initiatives as well as their stakeholders, targets, approaches, budgets and results are summarized in this report in order to extract deeper, fact-based insights on recent experiences and impact evaluations.
