External Risks: Contingency Planning Guide for Microfinance Institutions in Sierra Leone
Download
14 pages
This Contingency Planning Guide is designed to help MFIs prepare their own pre-disaster contingency or business continuity plans to reduce the impact of external risks, natural and man-made disasters, and resume normal service delivery to clients as quickly as possible. This document came about as a result of a discussion forum with members of the Sierra Leone Association of Microfinance Institutions (SLAMFI) which evaluated the measures undertaken by MFIs during the Ebola crisis. The document also includes secondary research and a review of existing studies on pre- and post-disaster risk management specifically for the microfinance industry and businesses in general.
