Key Performance Indicators for PAYGo PERFORM: How Far We Have Come

Wanji Ng'ang'a leads GOGLA's work on Access to Finance which is focused on facilitating the increased flow of investment into the off-grid sector. Prior to this role, Wanji spent seven years leading business development and key account management in leading solar manufacturers across territories in Africa, Latin America and the Pacific. Wanji has also spent five years in the financial services sector across different functions in Kenya. Wanji has studied Finance in the United States International University.

Geoff is the Investment Director at CDC leading its off-grid solar debt finance initiative. CDC Group is UK’s development finance institution, which invests in businesses in Africa and South Asia to create jobs and make a lasting difference to people’s lives.

Avi is a Global Investment Officer at SunFunder. He is responsible for managing relationships with SunFunder's clients and optimizing their debt structure so that we can grow together. Prior to joining SunFunder, Avi was the Director of Market Analysis at Lumos Global, a solar home system provider that launched initially in Nigeria. He began his career as a Special Operations Weather Team Leader in the US Air Force. Avi is a graduate of the Case Western Reserve University School of Law and, as a graduate of the University of Michigan, a proud Wolverine.

Miguel Soriano is a PAYGo Finance Specialist at IFC’s Lighting Global Group, where he leads the development of metrics and tools/frameworks to evaluate the profitability of PAYGo solar companies. Miguel also advises the World Bank on numerous Fintech projects and initiatives in emerging markets. Prior to moving to Washington DC, Miguel was an Adjunct Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS), where he taught Corporate Finance, Mergers & Acquisitions and Valuation Analysis. Before moving to Singapore, Miguel was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank working across a wide variety of sectors to develop and execute strategic solutions to drive growth, profitability and shareholder value. Miguel has a PhD in Business from Singapore Management University and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. He also holds a B.S. in Physics and Mechanical Engineering from New York University.

Nicky Khaki leads CGAP’s work developing metrics and reporting standards for the Solar PAYGo Sector. Nicky has over fifteen years of professional experience across private equity, venture capital, impact investing, and corporate finance in the U.S. and in Africa. He lives in Johannesburg where he is a partner at Gluon Limited, a global private investment company. Nicky holds a M.A. from Johns Hopkins in International Affairs and Economics with a concentration in International Development and a B.A. in Math and Economics from the University of Virginia.

Alexander Sotiriou leads CGAP's work on Financial Innovations for Development, which aims to understand how innovations in financial services can be used to address some of the most pressing challenges in development, including access to energy, water, and education. He joined CGAP from MicroVest, where he was the investment manager for Latin America and managed a portfolio of investments in the region’s leading microfinance and small and medium enterprise finance institutions. Mr. Sotiriou has an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s degree in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Economics from the University of Arizona.
