The objective of this case study is to document an example of the successful design and implementation of housing microfinance products. The paper analyzes the approach taken by the First Microfinance Bank of Afghanistan (FMFB-A) from 2009-2013 to develop one of the most successful housing microfinance products globally. This report is designed to act as a reference guide to microfinance institutions interested in offering housing-related loans to low-income earners in order to improve financial access for the poor.
