A public-private partnership to achieve greater efficiency
23 pages
This case study highlights the success of the school registration fees payment initiative in Côte d’Ivoire, a concrete example which demonstrates that when operators and governments in mature mobile money markets collaborate, whole categories of payments can be efficiently digitised. This initiative, which facilitates annual school registration fee payment for 99% of Côte d’Ivoire’s 1.5 million secondary school students, has resulted in driving cost efficiencies, increased operational efficiency, and transparency for all the beneficiaries. The initiative has also generated important transaction volumes for mobile money providers.
