Jean Bosco Iyacu
Jean Bosco Iyacu is the Chief Executive Officer of Access to Finance Rwanda (AFR), a non-profit focused on promoting financial sector development and facilitating access to and use of financial services for unserved and underserved segments in Rwanda. He has over 17 years experience working in the Rwandan financial sector. He has also been instrumental in the design and implementation of a wide range of financial inclusion and financial sector development programs across Rwanda and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Before joining AFR, Jean Bosco was the CEO of the Rwanda Business Development Center (RBDC), an entrepreneurship and business incubation facility. He has also served in several leadership capacities in some of Africa’s leading financial institutions such as KCB Bank, where he was the Regional Business Manager and Head of Retail and SME Banking.
He holds a Master’s in Economics from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa. He is a certified expert in MSME Financing and Inclusive Insurance from the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management as well as a certified expert in Digital Money from the Digital Frontiers Institute. Through the United Kingdom’s Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment, Jean Bosco has completed the Introduction to Securities and Investment in Africa course and another on Rethinking Financial Inclusion from Harvard’s Kennedy School.
