Access to Finance in Andhra Pradesh

This report presents results from the first ever household survey on access to finance in India, which was conducted in Andhra Pradesh.  Known as the 'mecca of microfinance,' Andhra Pradesh has penetration rates that are higher than any other state in India and the state is home to some of India's largest MFIs – Spandana, Basix and SKS.

The in-depth study gives an overview of and key findings related to savings and loan products, SHGs and other financial products that are used in the state. Specifically, it explores whether clients are borrowing from formal or informal sources, SHG membership levels and how savings accounts are utilized.
