Law of the Republic of Armenia on October 23, 2001

This paper discusses the amendments and supplements to the law on the Central bank of the Republic of Armenia. The additions and deletions in the law cover the following aspects:

• Composition of the capital for the Central Bank;
• Composition of the Central Bank's expense under the following heads:
  • Operating expenses;
  • Administrative expenses.
• Guiding principles with which the Central Bank should regulate and supervise banks in the country;
• Accounting and auditing procedures for the Central Bank as well as other banks;
• Issues related to issuance and circulation of government securities, bank notes and currency;
• Compulsory bank deposit guarantee (insurance) and related issues.

The document concludes by specifying the time period by which the amendments would be applicable.
