After two years with the government he worked in Syndicate Bank as Rural Development Officer for 16 years. In 1998 he joined IASC, a private sector initiative to start a microfinance institution. From May 2007 he is working as a microfinance consultant and trainer. He was the Board of Sa-Dhan for three years and Planet Finance for two terms. |

Since inception in 1998, he stayed for nine years with IASC and had been through the triumphs and tribulations of the institution during its growth phase. He and his team-members had taken this institution to an enviable position where IASC is now one among the top-ten microfinance institutions in the country. Transparency has been the hallmark of its successful functioning and is rated the highest Five Diamond status for transparency by MIX Market.
Rural Development Officer, Syndicate Bank, India (March 1982- September 1998)
Was involved in agricultural and rural credit work- appraisal of loan applications of farmers, extending technical guidance to farmers, dissemination of latest findings from the agriculture university through innovative extension education processes,preparation of development projects, delinquincy manangement. All four assignments were on the Western Ghat mountain ranges and therefore took a special interest in mountain farming and livelihood. Developed a special interest in tribal development work. Rare experience of working in three linguistic states.
