Practical Microfinance - Online Course

About the Event:
Microfinance is a hot topic. Anyone who is interested in finance, of any kind, should have some basic understanding of this still new and emerging field. And anyone working in community development or social work should understand how improved access to financial services can help disadvantaged people to improve their lives.

The course will cover a range of topics. These will include traditional financial systems, gender issues, the role of groups, ‘empowerment’, vulnerability and savings and micro-insurance, household cash flow analysis, the need for rates of return and interest charges, sources of funds, management information systems and technologies, impact measurement, institutional choices and the role of government and foreign aid.
