What insurance packages can be designed for the needs of the poorest?

The booklet contains a tabulated description of some of the FWWB insurance schemes currently available with the four Indian nationalised insurance companies. The schemes listed are for risks commonly faced by low income. For four schemes, viz. Janshree Life Insurance scheme, hospitalisation insurance, livestock insurance and agricultural pump-set insurance, descriptive notes on implementation issues are included. Presents examples of packages that can be developed to suit the specific needs:

• single schemes for different types of risk cover
• one package scheme designed for a cooperative society
